Drug Uses

Zyvоx is used for treating adults with certain serious bacterial infections that are often resistant to other antibiotics.

How to use

Use Zyvоx as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

Take Zyvоx by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with food to reduce stomach irritation.

To clear up your infection completely, use Zyvоx for the full course of treatment. Keep using it even if you feel better in a few days.

Drug Class and Mechanism

Zyvоx is an oxazolidinone antibiotic. It works by interfering with the production of proteins needed by bacteria to grow.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Zyvоx, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Storage

Store at controlled room temperature (77 degree F or 25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) is permitted.
